Privacy Policy

Effective July 16, 2026 · Version 2026-07-16

This policy covers both The Floor iOS app and this website (thefloorapp.com, including the waitlist signup). It explains what we collect, why, and how to make us stop.

The Floor is operated by KevcoDigital LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company ("KevcoDigital," "we," "us"), which is the data controller. Questions, deletion requests, or other privacy issues: administrator@kevcodigital.com

1. What we collect on this website

If you join the waitlist, we collect what you type into the form:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number (optional — only if you want SMS updates)
  • SMS consent preference and the version of the consent text you agreed to
  • Product interest selection
  • Submission timestamp and source metadata

We use this to manage and prioritize waitlist invites, send launch notifications, send SMS updates only if you explicitly opted in, and improve our launch planning. Waitlist submissions are stored via Google (Apps Script / Sheets).

Opting out: every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can stop SMS at any time by replying STOP. Full texting details are in our SMS Terms. To have your waitlist entry deleted, email us.

2. What we collect in the app

When you create an account:

  • Email and password (passwords are hashed before storage; we never see plain text)
  • Apple Sign-In identity if you use it (we receive your email and a token, never your Apple password)
  • The display name you choose

During onboarding and in Settings (most fields are optional):

  • US state
  • ZIP code (used to figure out your House district)
  • Topics you're interested in and representatives you want to follow
  • Optional demographic answers: age range, voter registration status, healthcare type, household income bracket, and identity flags (veteran, parent, student, homeowner, business owner)
  • Optional political values quiz results (two coordinate scores)
  • Optional profile photo

As you use the app:

  • Your votes (support / oppose / neutral) on bills, executive orders, and Supreme Court cases
  • Your comments and replies in discussions, and any reports or blocks you file
  • Bills you bookmark; topics, representatives, and users you follow
  • Your Ask AI questions and conversations
  • Activity streaks and daily challenges you complete
  • Your subscription status (whether Premium is active — Apple handles the payment itself; we receive a transaction identifier, never your payment details)

Automatic technical data:

  • IP address and device user-agent in our authentication logs
  • Crash reports if the app crashes (device model, OS version, and stack trace — no user content)
  • Usage analytics tied to your account ID: which screens you visit and what types of actions you take. We do not send bill identifiers tied to your votes, search queries, AI prompt text, comment content, or your demographic answers to our analytics provider.

The app does not ask for or collect:

  • Your real name (unless you choose to put it in your display name)
  • Your phone number (only the website waitlist form asks for one, and only optionally)
  • Your precise location (we use your self-reported state/ZIP only)
  • Your payment card details (Apple processes all payments)
  • Your browsing history outside The Floor
  • Your contacts, calendar, photos library (except a photo you explicitly pick as your avatar), or microphone

3. How we use information

  • To show you bills, votes, and discussions relevant to your state, district, and topic interests
  • To operate the features you use (voting, comments, bookmarks, follows, notifications you've opted into)
  • To unlock Premium features you've purchased
  • To manage waitlist invites and send launch updates
  • To prevent abuse (rate limiting, moderation, blocking)
  • To show anonymous, aggregated community statistics — like the share of homeowners who support a bill. Only group percentages, never your individual answers, and groups smaller than 25 people are never shown at all
  • To improve the product (which features get used, where users drop off)

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising. We do not "track" you across other companies' apps or websites as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency.

4. Third-party services we use

  • Supabase — hosts the app's database and authentication. supabase.com/privacy
  • Google (Apps Script / Sheets) — stores website waitlist submissions.
  • Netlify — hosts this website and its server logs.
  • Firebase Crashlytics (Google) — app crash reports. Receives a device identifier and your Floor user ID, never user content. firebase.google.com/support/privacy
  • Firebase Analytics (Google) — app usage tied to your Floor user ID. Configured to NOT collect Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA), NOT track you across apps, and NOT feed Google's ad products. Only action types and screen names are sent.
  • Anthropic — processes Ask AI prompts and legislative text for summary generation. We don't include identifying information. anthropic.com/legal/privacy
  • Apple — Sign in with Apple, App Store billing for subscriptions, and push notifications if you enable them. apple.com/legal/privacy

5. Your rights and choices

  • Edit your profile, demographic info, interests, and followed accounts at any time from Settings in the app.
  • Sign out from any device at any time.
  • Delete your account and all your data from Settings → Manage Account → Delete Account. Immediate and permanent.
  • Unsubscribe from marketing emails via the link in any email; reply STOP to end SMS.
  • Request a copy of your data, or deletion of a waitlist entry, by emailing administrator@kevcodigital.com — we'll fulfill within 30 days.
  • Object to specific processing — contact us at the email above.

6. State and regional privacy rights

If you live in California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, New Jersey, or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, those rights (access, correction, deletion, portability) apply to you. The in-app delete-account flow is the fastest way to exercise deletion; for the rest, email us. We don't sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there's nothing to opt out of on that front.

If you live in the EU/EEA/UK, you have rights under the GDPR. We rely on:

  • Contract — for data needed to operate the app (account, votes, content, subscription status)
  • Consent — for optional demographics, the political values quiz, notifications, your ZIP code, and waitlist/SMS updates
  • Legitimate interest — for fraud prevention, moderation, crash reporting, and product analytics

Because votes and quiz results can reveal political opinions, we treat them as sensitive data: they're collected only through your deliberate in-app actions, never sold, never used for advertising, and deleted with your account. You can withdraw consent or object to processing by emailing us, and you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Data retention

While your account is active, your data stays — it's the app. After you delete your account, we wipe your profile, votes, comments, bookmarks, follows, avatar, and authentication record immediately. Crash reports follow Firebase's default retention (90 days). Authentication logs follow Supabase's defaults. Waitlist entries are kept until launch outreach is complete, or until you ask us to delete yours.

8. Children

The Floor requires users to be at least 13, and this website is not directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you realize your child has signed up, contact us and we'll delete the account immediately.

9. Changes to this policy

Material changes will be surfaced in-app before they take effect, and posted on this page. The effective date at the top of this document always reflects the most recent change.
